Liked: English capable, friendly and very helpful staff. Wonderful and caring. helped us with all bookings. Made our stay very comfortable and delightfully pleasant !!

Disliked: If you order from the breakfast menu (made to order) make sure you are not rushing off somewhere as it will take a while (20-40 minutes).

Liked: I think this is the best place in Arequipa for a relaxing stay. It is not a party hostel, it is not even a real hostel, more a hotel, so you will not meet a lot of backpackers, but the garden with the big tree and the turtle is the best you can do if you want to stretch your legs after a hike in the canyon. The breakfast is awesome (you have to pay extra for some eggs, though) and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. The Internet is also pretty fast if you get a room near the Wifi router (Otherwise you can lay on a deck chair in the garden since the connection is the best there).

Liked: Staff is so friendly, helpful, and polite!! They were all wonderful. Very clean, comfortable, very pleasant grounds. Excellent breakfast. Easy walking distance to much of Arequipa.

Disliked: No kitchen except for the one they use for classes. They did let me use it briefly, but I think that was an exception.

Liked: The facilities are very nice, as are the employees.

Disliked: We had barely warm water in the shower. Unlike other hotels in Peru, the eggs, cereal, yogurt, cost extra.

Liked: Rooms were basic but comfortable and clean. The hotel also has a large courtyard that is pleasant for relaxing in. Raquel at the front desk was a delight-- helpful about recommending restaurants, getting us a taxi, storing our luggage, changing money, etc. She even hugged us when we left--such a warm, lovely person.

Disliked: No hair dryer available in the bathrooms or at the front desk to borrow. Breakfast was sparse---just bread, jam, cheese--although additional items are available to order for an extra charge. There was also limited seating in the breakfast room, although it could easily have held more tables. Rooms have very thin doors that cannot be shut without being locked from the outside with a key. This is inconvenient when, for example, one person is showering and the other wishes to leave the room; the other person either has to leave the room door open (not just unlocked but physically ajar), or s/he has to lock the door on the way out and leave the person who is showering without a way to lock the door later.Another caveat: the hotel is the site for language classes, cooking classes, and conferences, so it may be crowded and noisy at times.
