Liked: The staff are very helpful and understanding and the travelers it attracts have incredibly unique backgrounds and it is a wonderful place to meet new friends. It also is in a very central location - 10 minute walk from downtown and close to the shops on Magazine.

Disliked: The property is quiet small so it is difficult to be at the house surfing night time quiet hours if you are not sleeping.

Liked: All doors had a pinpad for security, it was clean, staff were friendly and helpful. Great breakfast of pancakes and the house is a lovely old style house in a safe neighbourhood, the streets are quite quiet and I thought it might be unsafe walking around at night but we walked at all hours and it was fine!

Disliked: It's a 20min walk from town, but only about $5 with uber.

Liked: Sarah and Freddie were great hosts, they both put on evening events like a bar crawl and BBQ which were both good fun and very sociable. The building and rooms all felt very secure and the hostel is located in a quite neighbourhood. Very clean and the free pancake breakfast was a bonus!

Disliked: Bunk beds were very squeaky which could be an issue for some people. Also in the main building, there was only one bathroom for 12 beds which meant there was sometimes a wait in the morning. Neither issue would stop me from returning!

Liked: Staffed all day, with friendly staff (Freddie and Caitlyn are amazing). Air con was awesome as it was 100 ℉ all weekend! Free pancakes every morning didn't hurt, either :)

Disliked: The only qualm I had is the lack of courtyard lighting! Other than that, no problems at all

Liked: The hostel is split in two buildings. We (group of 4) stayed in a private dorm in the building in the back.It was great, clean, nice furniture, not worn out and had a great little sitting are in the yard between the two buildings. It's relatively small (in comparison to other hostels) but I think that's what makes it so great.

Disliked: If you stay in the 6 bed dorm those that have the private room on the top floor always have to walk through your room. So I can see that being a little annoying. That's the only down side really. Also the location is not perfect. It's about a 15-20 minute walk to Canal Street, which really isn't bad, but not ideal. Breakfast is very simple (pancakes made from pancake mix ) and could offer a little bit more (cereal or bagels maybe). Also,It seemed there were no hostel activities,Which makes it a bit unattractive for solo travelers.
