The Doctors House is situated on the south coast of Sri Lanka and we have 2 dorm rooms, a 4 bed and and a 6 bed, with shared outdoor bathroom facilities.

This 200 year old colonial building has served as an Aryuvedic hospital since it was first built. It has been handed down, generation after generation, through a long line of Aryuvedic doctors, and has been lucky enough to fall into the hands of two young Australians.

This Dutch colonial style building is truly one of a kind. One look at it , leaves you speechless, in saying that, its spooky, yet mysterious looks makes you wonder how many stories it would have to tell. This building was one of very few which survived the 2004 tsunami.

The building will retain its original look, as it would be madness to change any aspect of its original image. There has been a focus into the landscaping surrounding The Doctor's House and into keeping as much of the original buildings in their original state

Location Information

Madiha is best described as a vibrant and joyful coastal Sri Lankan surf town. It is located off the main road and away from the railway line, so it is much more quiet and less hectic then the nearby crowded tourist hub of Mirissa. It is only 10 minutes drive from Matara (major bus and train station) and Mirissa; and only 10 minutes walk from the Welgama Bus Stop (on Galle Road).

Cancellation Policy

Customers can cancel their reservation free of charge up to 2 days before arrival. After this date, charges will be applied by the property up to the first nights cost of the reservation, unless otherwise stated in the property’s conditions. Deposits paid are non refundable.
