Important Information

Please Note:

PLEASE CHECK YOUR ARRIVAL TIME CAREFULLY. This is very important as although we have 24 hour check in, office hours are 8am until 12AM/Midnight. You can check in at any time, but please just notify us via email if you will be arriving outside of office hours so we can have a staff member prepare for your arrival otherwise we cannot guarantee your booking.

We accept cash in HUFs or EUROS only and you will be asked to pay in cash upon arrival. Full payment is due one week in advance to the arrival date for all groups of 6 - 19 guests and due one month in advance for all groups over 20 guests. This can be paid via PayPal or TransferWise.

We have a high tech security system so loss of security card will cost 3000 HUF. Any groups of 5 or more will be required to pay a 5000HUF each to cover any damage caused or keys lost during your stay. This will be returned on checkout depending on damages caused or any hostel property lost.

We are a strictly drug free hostel and have a zero tolerance policy on the issue. If you are found on drugs, with drugs or asking for them, inside or outside of the hostel, you will be evicted immediately with no refund.

Also please bare in mind that we are located in a very old Hungarian building and therefore are not equipped to handle those in wheelchairs or otherwise handicapped.

Retox is part of the Budapest Party Hostels brand and is one of the wildest of the bunch. Like the name says, this is A PARTY HOSTEL, we go out every night, some people drink in the daytime, there is a bar, sometimes sex, and a lot of fun. If you don’t feel like you can cope with this sort of environment, please try other accommodation like Vitae Hostel or Meander Hostel.

Regrettably, due to the fact that this is a licensed premises we can not take bookings for anyone under the age of 18. Also, due to previous experience, we don’t usually take bookings for people over 36, but if you are an older traveler and would feel comfortable staying here then by all means email us so we can discuss it.

Even though this is a party hostel, please note that this is a community based on respect and any breach of respect to the property, staff or the local community will result in eviction with no refund from the hostel.
