Cancellation policy: 24h before arrival. In case of a late cancellation or No Show, you will be charged the first night of your stay.

Check in from 14:00 to 22:00 .
Check out from 07:00 to 12:00 .

About El Rio Hostel

El Rio Hostel offers travellers a unique hostel experience, combining excellent facilities with personal service Guests can choose to stay in our private cabañas, dorms or hammocks, we cater to every budget. Our social spaces include a private beach, sundeck, bar and garden and our family-style dining area. We encourage story swapping and friendship building, and our weekly tubing parties always go down a treat.
Our resident chef prepares a daily menu of wholesome and delicious meals which are served family-style in our palm-thatch kisoko (vegetarian options available). We try to use only locally-sourced and seasonal fresh produce, supporting the local fruit and veg market in Buritaca.

Accommodation Information

Guests can choose to stay in our private cabañas, or Dorms or hammocks. The cabaña will have either twin beds or a king-sized double, linens and towels are included, the shared bathrooms are nearby.
Our dorms have been designed for travellers by travellers. The Beehive 6 bed dorm is an air-conditioned dorm with an ensuite bathroom and private garden overlooking the river, perfect for groups. The 12 bed dorm is a spacious dorm area with a big shared bathroom. Linen is included and towels are available for hire.
"The Mothership" Hammock Hut ( 10 bed dorm) is constructed around a huge avocado tree, mosquito nets and linens are included and each hammock comes with its own secure locker. Towels are available for hire. A shared bathroom is available close by.

Location Information

We organise tours including river tubing, horse riding, fishing, walks into the Sierra Nevada, motorbike trips and cycling along the coast. You can walk through the banana plantations to the Caribbean sea, or take a moto taxi to All Good Surf to catch a wave. There are also plenty of walks to waterfalls and viewpoints nearby, just ask at reception.
The entrance to The Lost City trek is 10 minutes from El Rio, plus Tayrona national park and Palomino are just 20 minutes away.

Cancellation Policy

Customers can cancel their reservation free of charge up to 1 day before arrival. After this date, charges will be applied by the property up to the first nights cost of the reservation, unless otherwise stated in the property’s conditions. Deposits paid are non refundable.
