Liked: Location was quite good, and the atmosphere was perfect for meeting new people. The tour to the Terracota Warriors organised by the hostel was amazing.

Disliked: The noise at night, coming from the bar. Noone could sleep before 2-3 in the morning. If you are looking for party, this is the right place (you get a free beer each night), but if one day, you are tired after having walked around a lot in the sun, you won't be liking this hostel. The free pickup they declare to offer is very restricted in matters of time and sttions (they only take you from the train station (no from the bus station) and hours are limited. The bathroom smelled badly, and rooms were not cleaned every day.

Liked: If your priorities are to meet people and be in a central location this is the place for you.

Disliked: It can be noisy. And they do not include basic toiletries such as soap and shampoo. Also, you have to ask for free towels.

Liked: The common area at the entrance is very warm and welcoming. The staff was very willing to answer my questions, although they always tend to be busy. The restaurant serves a nice breakfast. I think they've heeded to previous comments about the noise level from the bar, so it's not so loud, which is nice.

Disliked: If you get the third floors dorms in the second courtyard, expect very little sunlight, if any. The rooms are very dark as there is only one window to each room, so unless if you have the air-conditioner on, they are very hot.

Liked: The location is fabulous, the rooms are extremely clean, and the hostel has a great atmosphere and a lot of wonderful common areas, from the cafe and bar which get quite happening, to smaller rooms where it's quiet and you can read or relax. The staff is helpful and knows what they are talking about. A bit noisy from the bar and cafe, but they shut off the music and quiet everyone who is in the courtyard down quite early (11:30, I think), so that's really nice.

Disliked: I highly prefer a western toilet, and there is only one, it was not close to my room, and was through several busy common areas. For me, getting up to the pee in the middle of the night and having to choose between the squat pot and running through the partyers in my nightie was one I wish I hadn't had to deal with. Otherwise, no complaints. I did the Terra Cotta Warriors tour provided through the hostel and it was adequate. It is true - you get what you pay for, so if you are really into art, archaeology, history, etc. I think it would be worth it to hire a private guide who has received great online reviews. If you don't care that much and just want to get the basics, the hostel tour is good.

Liked: Free ping-pong lessons, free beer, good location.

Disliked: Only 1 western style toilet for all the hostel, bad basement rooms, paid (and unstable) internet. Lots of very drunken backpackers, but the hostel can´t be blamed for that.
