About Sydney - Pittwater YHA
The hostel is a converted 1920s family home set over Morning Bay in Ku-ring-gai National Park - the perfect escape from the busy city life of Sydney.
Bushwalk from the water's edge to the peaks, to spectacular lookouts and to the Australian Aborigine's rock engraving sites. Wallabies surround the hostel, possums and bandicoots come out at night, native birds including the Superb Lyre bird, Kookaburras Cockatoos and Whip Birds are all part of the narural landscape. In warmer months goannas amble across the terraces.
Kayaks are available to hire to reach secluded beaches and mangrove inlets and for the adventurous to circumnavigate Scotland Island.e, sail on the harbour or bushwalk to aboriginal engraving sites and stunning lookouts. This is also the place where doing nothing is the perfect past-time and our hammocks are the place to do it.
Bring your food as there are no shops at the hostel. If travelling with bed linen (top +bottom sheets and pillow slip) bring these otherwise hire at $3pp. Do not bring sleeping bags.

Accommodation Information
The hostel has 8 bedrooms, which include private twin/double and dormitory rooms. Bedding including douvets and, in colder months, blankets is supplied. Bathroom facilities are shared. The kitchen is very well equippeed with all the pots and pans for making homely meals. A range of herbs and spices, margarine sugar and cooking oil is supplied for other than groups stays. The veranda extends along the bay-side of the hostel and the cosy lounge room has a log fire for colder times.
Outside is a paved area with BBQ and grassed terraces are in front of the hostel.
The hostel has a selection of board and card games, a Roland electric piano, an acoustic guitar and aukelele for guest's use.
Location Information
Local ferry companies provide scenic cruises of Pittwater and Hawkesbury River.
Try your hand at sailing with the sailing school, Allsail, based at Church Point. And, you might be lucky - some of the locals offer a ride on their sailing boats in the local "Woody Point" yacht races.
Regarding shopping for supplies, there are good shops and supermarkets at Mona Vale, near the bus stops.

Customers can cancel their reservation free of charge up to 1 day before arrival. After this date, charges will be applied by the property up to the first nights cost of the reservation, unless otherwise stated in the property’s conditions. Deposits paid are non refundable.
