Liked: It's in a beautiful building and the dorms are spacious. The lockers are large and mesh-sided, which somehow seemed preferable to solid although I'm not sure why. Although the previous reviewer's 'school disco' comment really rings true, the free parties are packed and friendly, and the beer prices are not too bad. I got talking to plenty of people, but you'll enjoy them most if you're early twenties, single and straight. The hostel seems to be run efficiently. The reception staff speak good English.(This was a disadvantage for me because I wanted to practise Spanish but in general it is obviously a good thing.) One of the cleaners has Down's syndrome, which is very progressive for somewhere like Argentina. A free walking tour goes right from the hostel to a different neighbourhood every morning: I don't know whether they're organized by the hostel but it's convenient either way.

Disliked: The wi-fi is really poor: you can only access it on the ground floor and not at all in the dorm. This is especially a disadvantage if you want to go on line while the parties are on or most of all when they are cleaning up afterwards, when they don't allow you in the area at all. There is also a massive shortage of sockets: in the dorm the only ones are right by the door, and downstairs there are very few and in awkward positions, so charging devices is difficult. While I was watching something on screen a cleaner must have taken the two bags from right in front of me and thrown them away: I found one of them in the bin. They weren't valuable but were the original packaging for the computer and cable so were obviously the right size to store them in and protect them from damage. I told a receptionist but she wasn't really apologetic and couldn't offer a good alternative. In general, the hostel is a little clinical: you probably won't develop much rapport with the staff. The kitchen is very small and, more crucially, severely lacking in equipment.

Liked: The property offered great facilities and the building itself was beautiful! Also good security measures in place and reasonable prices. Also the free evenings activites organised each night were good to go to, and they offered plenty of options for excursions to see a lot of the city quickly (also a little costly as well).

Disliked: I found it difficult to adjust to socialising here (possibly because it has a reputation of being a part hostel and therefore attracted groups of people rather than inviduals). Also didn't build up much of a repor with the staff. Finally, there's a very obscure sign on the building identifying the hostel, so it's very easy to miss - a point of frustration when first trying to find the hostel!

Liked: The cleaniness, the breakfast, it's so easy to meet other travellers here. The bar areas are really cool of an evening, comfortable beds and lockers. No complaints.

Disliked: It's pretty loud but it's a party hostel so that's expected.

Liked: Because of the size of the hostel it`s a good place to meet other backpackers (but not local Argentinians). If you don´t mind paying more than you should then there`s a whole range of activities that you can organise without having to set foot outside.

Disliked: It`s a typical large impersonal party hostel with strict rules about everything, designed to make you spend as much money at the hostel as possible. Things such as going to watch a football match the hostel charges double what a profit making website like tickettek charges, whilst telling you that`s the cheapest price you`ll be able to get. Despite the size of the hostel there isn´t even a kitchen and if you want to cook for yourself you have to walk 10 minutes to the other Milhouse.

Liked: Really fun place, there's something happening every day and night. Surprisingly clean for a party hostel, beds are made everyday, bathrooms are nice, huge lockers to put all your stuff in. The staff are helpful and friendly. Overall, I'd definitely go back.

Disliked: It's a little far away from the nightlife. Buenos Aires is a big city though.

Liked: It has amazing character and if you're a solo traveller is a great place to meet people. Location is ideally located and right night to the Subway which can take you easily to the bus station. ALL staff were nice folk.

Disliked: It is a party hostel and if you wanted an early night...forget it. Especially if your room is located on the front opposite one of the local night clubs. Kitchen lacks a few essential utensils.
