Customer Travel Tip: Stay here for at least several nights, reasonable and even modest prices on most everything, explore awesome Ephesus in detail, rent a car for day-trips to (many!) nearby classical attractions, go to close-by Kusadasi for the beautiful Mediterranean beaches. You will not be disappointed in Selcuk and environs!
Liked: Selcuk is really the modern extension of Ephesus, as the latter is such an awesome world-class site that comments would require a whole book! Selcuk has everything: great food, location, very good transportation, and very friendly people. It is modern and safe, and Turkish hospitality is wonderful. You can stay here, get a rental car, and do day trips to other awesome classical sites (Priene, Miletus, Pergamum, to mention a few). Selcuk is not large, but just right. It has a quality, low-stress lifestyle.
Disliked: This was our first visit, with first impressions, but we experienced no negatives.

Customer Travel Tip: Maximum of three days is enough for Selcuk. Check out the little night markets.
Liked: It's a lovely little town. Very charming and people are most hospitable. There are enough cafes and eateries to choose from, some can be a tad pricey. I enjoyed walking through the little city center and it had regular dolmus/mini buses to Kusidasi and Sirince. They have cinema night every friday night in the square. It's like going to the drive-in. Great!
Disliked: Nothing. Lovely place.

Customer Travel Tip: If you want a quiet beach, go to the nearby Pamucak beach instead of the big ones in Kusadasi. This beach is for local people, you will see Turkish family and lovers come for picnic here, no touristy shops and such like. It is so close that you can take Dolmus (minibus) from Selcuk only 20 minutes.
Liked: This is a small town but it has such a lovely atmosphere and there are so many ancient sites and cultural things nearby to see. I love this place the most in my trip to Turkey. Saturday market is full of cheap things you can buy. The taxi driver I met was honest and kind. And the House of Virgin Mary and the Ancient Ephesus are places that I shall never forget all my life.
