Customer Travel Tip: There is one man. He's a tour guide. Brings you really cheap to the hostel and offers 200 baht tour for 3 hours. He's legit (old man with one sided moustache.) it's worth it.
Liked: Lovely temples. Plenty to see

Customer Travel Tip: No compren la entrada que venden en la Petro oficina de turismo para entrar en todos los templos. Hay muchos que son gratis y otros que no vale la pena ver. Averigüen en blogs cuáles son los más lindos y vayan a ellos.

Customer Travel Tip: Give a restaurant on the backpacker street a look. There's no name, but it's got a sign out front that says "Authentic Thai Food." The food is really good and the guy that runs it is really nice and speaks English pretty well.
Liked: It was really beautiful. The ancient ruins are part of the living and growing city. I really enjoyed it and so did my girlfriend.
Disliked: Be wary of the bike rental places. We got a janky bike one day but the next day we went to another one and things were great. It's also HOT; be ready for it and drink a lot of water.

Customer Travel Tip: First, KNOW THE NAME of your hostel. Second, research about the temples you want to visit and consider their relative distance from your hostel OR talk to your hostel's receptionist about your sightseeing trip. Third, know the names of the PLACES YOU WILL VISIT, including marketplaces and eateries around. After you know their names, COPY THEIR THAI NAME on a list of paper just in case you will show this to English illiterate locals around the area. Always bring the list of the Thai name places with you everytime you go out. And LASTLY, if you are coming to Ayutthaya by train and want to take a songthaew, IGNORE the driver's fraudulent offers of being your personal driver for your whole trip, they will charge you HIGH. Hostel owners have their own list of trusted drivers offering REASONABLE prices. We managed to pay 1200 Baht for a person with met at the station for 6 temples, even our hostel bookers were shocked we have to pay a price that would've you explored the WHOLE ISLAND for 1 day! I don't know how Thailand became a top-selling destination when highly urbanized places like Ayutthaya have 90% of English illiterate locals. Locals in Siem Reap, Cambodia are even 150% better than those from Ayutthaya. Sorry for these frank words. And i know, it is TL;DR.
Liked: I liked Ayutthaya's number of temples across the main island and the surrounding districts, which are all free. As far as I know, there are only six expensive temples to visit, which you can all visit for a cheaper price in one ticket. There are also museums and arts foundations, very nice place to understand the roots of Thailand's history as a nation.
Disliked: Ayutthaya is not a very tourist friendly place, as tourists are only accommodated near temple sites. Most locals cannot speak, and even correctly pronounce (which can be made with some effort on their part) English words. Lots of inconsiderate and no-good songthaew drivers around the town as well, knowing well that you're a tourist they can take advantage of with them laughing you at your back.

Customer Travel Tip: Use the public transport and keep dual languae (English/Thai) if you have eihter only Thai, you would yourself struggle to read or if its English than the locals might struggle.
Liked: I find language problem in Ayuthaya bit more than in Bangkok and Kanchanaburi. But I think one of the best preserved town in Thailand, and I like lots of oldest monasteries so close to each other.
Disliked: I struggle to communicate. And the biggest problem was to find Halaal food in this town.
