Customer Travel Tip: Go to gimmelwald or murren. It's a bit quieter, there's plenty of great hiking, and you get good views of eiger, monch, and jungfrau.

Liked: There are lots of opportunities for various outdoor activities in the area.

Disliked: It's pretty crowded and expensive.

Trip Type:

Customer Travel Tip: Look into the price of each excursion to work out how much to budget... Also pack comfortable walking shoes.

Liked: A stunning destination particularly in good weather. I was literally gob smacked on arrival...I have never seen such an amazing train platform...surrounded by towering mountains! I dream of returning to this beautiful village in the future!

Disliked: Just the cost of food...couldn't really justify the expense of dining out so missed out on that experience. All the cable cars, and rains, buses to the start of the walking trails are sooooo pricey..didn't really factor that in, but in saying that it was worth it as the walks and scenery are out of this world!

21 May 2012

Travel Type:

Trip Type:
Sports, adventure or outdoor activities

Customer Travel Tip: Combine a visit to Grindelwald with trips to other villages in the Lauterbrunnen valley. If you don't have much time, I'd skip Grindelwald altogether and just go to Gimmelwald or Murren (smaller and more authentic, and with stunning views).

Liked: beautiful valley.

Disliked: I prefer the smaller, less touristy villages in the area.
