Customer Travel Tip: you should decide whether to use a touk touk to watch the sightseeings (about 2500 rupees) - in such case you won't enter the main territory of the ancient city, but you will see lots of dagobas and other things anyway. if you want to enter the main territory of the ancient city, you should reject touktoukers and buy a ticket ($25) - but in this case you will have to walk a lot

Customer Travel Tip: It's very hot in Anuradhapura so it is best to go there early morning or late afternoon. And , be prepared to walk barefooted in many sites.
Liked: Picturesque sunset by the dagobas.
Disliked: The landscape of the sacred city is beautiful, but the ruins and dagobas are not exactly breathtaking. If you're not into world heritage sites or are expecting more, this can be skipped.

Customer Travel Tip: Make sure you like the history of ancient Sri Lanka, then Anuradhapura is the place to start with. Be sure do some readings before heading there.
Liked: An ancient city with rich history and culture, people are pretty nice over there.
Disliked: Ancient city with so many ruins but you won't able to get the full picture of the ancient city with preserved badly ruins if you didn't do your readings.

Customer Travel Tip: dont be cheated by the guide said i will help to buy the entrance tickets for the ancient site.. its cheaper and turn out he skipped a few sites, though we paid fewer than the ori price but it is not worth it
