Customer Travel Tip: If you go to El Nido, make sure to take enough cash with you.

Liked: Natural beauty, just a nice place to be. The diving is good and cheap.

Disliked: In El Nido there are no cash machines, so if you stay longer than expected or arrive with little cash, it can be a little difficult.

Trip Type:
Backpacking / gap year Beach / sunbathing Sports, adventure or outdoor activities

Customer Travel Tip: Ask local (not in the transport business especially) to know the fair prices for tricycle and buses. Don't go in the peak of the high season, so crowded, especially El Nido. Go island hoping, it's not just good, it's awesome. (El Nido, tour C is the best if you only have time for one).

Liked: To relax, meet the people and go island hoping. It's awesome.

Disliked: Always problem with the electricity and the good wi-fi a rare. Always have to deal to transport and activities. In most places, the boatman throws the anchor directly in the corals, which are getting more and more destroyed by the years.

Customer Travel Tip: Go read up about it on wikitravel.org, they have lots of useful up-to-date info on all major points (Puerto Princesa, El Nido, Sabang, etc.).

Liked: A very quiet, beautiful, and still somewhat off-the-beaten-path type of place.

Disliked: Not pedestriant-friendly at all, lots of pollution from traffic on major streets.

Liked: Beautifull islandtours, great hostels. Lots of activities there.

Customer Travel Tip: Don't stay in Puerto Princesa for a huge amount of time. Head to El Nido or Port Barton instead.

Liked: The people were extremely friendly and the island was a beautiful place to relax.

Disliked: The only thing that we disliked were the cold showers at everywhere we stayed. But this is a minor complaint as our trip to the island was fantastic.

Customer Travel Tip: spend some time and plan what areas you are most intrested in and stick those places to vist and site see, there are a lot of places to see and do ,this will cut major hours off travel and you will be able to base your site seeing around your accomodation location ,drink, bottled water etc ,when you go out of the capital Puto Princesses make sure you take enough currency for dining out shopping etc ,Elnido for example only has one ATM machine and wont expect Australian or other world bank cards ,they really except visa at beach bars and eat outs, visa is the only credit card the philippines really excepts so beaware of that too the fours seasons excepted our visa card so that was good, so we had more currency to eat out and shop etc

Liked: Palawan is a very nice place, much more quiet than the Main land of Luzon, Manilia etc,the local government must have good systems and services in place for cleaness etc ,it has a lite buzz about the place which makes you feel a bit more relaxed than walking the main streets of Manilia, easy going place ,good food ,and accomodation, friendly locals, makes it a place for me to come back and explore more of next time with my wife

Beach / sunbathing Relaxation / spa Sightseeing & culture Sports, adventure or outdoor activities

Customer Travel Tip: Avoid the high season if you can. We went in mid May and did meet a few other travellers, but the beaches weren't crowded, the prices were cheaper, and altogether it made for a relaxing, beautiful experience. Also ask your guesthouse owner about prices for everything so you don't get too overcharged, especially by tricycle (tuktuk) drivers. And on a side note, I thought the underground river in Sabang was overrated.

Liked: It's a tropical paradise, and we had great experiences with our guesthouses throughout our time there.

Disliked: No.
