Customer Travel Tip: Decide your location according to what you plan to do. Safety was of prime importance to me, which is why I chose Makati. Might make sense to choose the area you want to live in according to what you want to do. And carry umbrellas! Also, know the price of things (cabs, local transport vehicle called jeepney) otherwise the drivers try to fool you.
Liked: Honestly, Manila is SO much like my home country, that I found everything so similar and not extremely exciting in a way. But that's just because I come from India, and there are lots of similarities between the 2 countries (similar weather, the public transport, the crowds etc.). I do love India a lot, but maybe I was looking for something different. That said, its a good place. The trip to Taal volcano, the smallest active volcano in the world, was quite fun, and so was Intramuros
Disliked: I think its not very safe in certain areas. Luckily, I was living in Makati in a brilliant location, but many areas are apparently not very safe.
