Customer Travel Tip: Do the tour of the ruins in Cusco first because you get heaps of info that's useful later and be very fit to do the climb to the freely accessible ruins.
Liked: The ruins and the restaurant we ate at. Cheap access by bus to from Cusco, though we only travelled one way on it.
Disliked: It was all good

Customer Travel Tip: If you're visiting Ollantaytambo in transit to Machu Picchu, as most people are, I encourage you to set aside some time to explore the local ruins for about a day.
Liked: I can't say much about the city because we only traveled in and out for our trip to Machu Pichu. It's certainly beautiful, and there seems to be plenty to do in the area, but since it's mostly a transit town the culture appears to be catered to tourists.
Disliked: We spent too little time here to report any real dislikes.

Customer Travel Tip: Getting here by taxi is cheaper and quicker than the train if there are two or more of you.
Liked: Nice quiet town, not as touristy as Aguas Calientes
Disliked: You couldn't buy entry to the ruins alone - u had to pay for 4 sights combined which was expensive if you only had a chance to see the ruins...the other sites were in other towns accessed by bus tours

Customer Travel Tip: Check out Pinkuylluna! The climb is steep, but the view is worth it. Most restaurants offer sack lunches so you can take to Machu Picchu with you (a much cheaper option than what they have at the site).
Liked: Very small but relaxing, peaceful town, friendly locals, you can walk everywhere, there's a free ruin called Pinkuylluna that overlooks the whole town, good town to stay in before heading to Machu Picchu if you don't want to stay in Aguas Calientes
Disliked: There's no nightlife, the roads are very small making it difficult for cars to maneuver (lots of honking)

Customer Travel Tip: If your coming this way towards Machupicchu you have to stop. For a day or two, there's a lot of Incan ruins in this town and great walks. It's a great place to get a feel of this area. ATM bcp is just on your way to the train station just out of the square, to your left. You can get a lot more money out of this machine than the global net ATM in the main square
Liked: I'm a bit of a chiller, so I like the laid back atmosphere of Ollantaytambo, plus it's a beautiful place, there's plenty of walks and treks to do around here, short and long. Or if you just want to read books on a hammock, you can't complain. There's also horse riding close by, I have not tried. Machupicchu is only 1 hour and half train ride away, and cusco 10 - 20 soles, on a bus 2 hours back in the opposite direction. We are staying for a week, because we love it so much. I found a couple of nice places to eat, there's a nice cafe bakery in the main square I can't remember the name. But it's on the corner of the main road coming into the square from cusco. Also Puka rami, was better than average. Otherwise pizzas all round.
Disliked: Restaurants, are kinda of average, but I prefer to cook myself....but hey it's definitely edible
