Customer Travel Tip: Good to stay a night when visiting Machu Picchu rather than rushing and doing a day trip. It is very touristy (as is Machu Picchu) so don't expect anything Peruvian/traditional/cultural. Take you swim suit, there are some hot springs, good to relax in after your trek to MP.

Liked: There is only one reason you'd visit Aguas C' and that's to visit Machu Pichu. The town is set up for tourists staying 1/2 nights maximum.

Disliked: Nothing, it's set up for tourists to MP. Everything I expected.

Trip Type:
Sightseeing & culture

Customer Travel Tip: Machu Picchu: indescribable, highly suggest taking the bus up and taking the hike down on foot, that way you get to see the subtropical environment that surrounds Machu Picchu, and tha way you see how strategic this setting is as a gateway between the Andes and the amazon. AS for the town, try to eat dinner in cusco/ollantaytambo, sleep overnight, see Machu Picchu and unless you want to go to the thermal baths just leave, the town is full of oveepriced shops.

Liked: It's an amazing place that really transcends the senses and a truly surreal experience to see these ruins so isolated from "civilization"

Disliked: Not Machu Picchu per se, it's more the the town. Very tourist iriented so it's extremely overpriced. The shop owners know this and try to screw over tourist however way they can. Don't they know that we are they ones providing their income?!

Customer Travel Tip: Maybe try the shady back way to visit Machu Picchu where you go to the aqueduct instead of taking the overpriced train?

Liked: There's a bookstore that actually has a wide selection of Latin American literature in English, which is hard to find in Peru. You kind of have to go there to visit Machu Picchu.

Disliked: It's loud, tacky, crowded, overpriced and generally unpleasant in every way possible.

Customer Travel Tip: You can buy the bus ticket to Machu Pichu in Aguas Calientes in the night before. The office closes at 8 pm. Do not forget to leave your own food and water because if you buy there it is gonna be really expensive.. Do not miss the climb to Huayna Picchu/Wayna Picchu. You can buy the ticket on the park's site and pay a little more to the special climb. Go with comfortable shoes and water! And do not forget to bring you passport because you can print the visit on it!

Liked: It is awesome!

Disliked: Food and beverage are too expensive in the park. And the bathrooms are located only in the entrance.
