Trip Type:

Customer Travel Tip: I reccomend staying in Huaraz for two or three nights to aclimatize before you start your trek into higher altitudes. More than that is unnecessary.

Liked: It is good place to prepare for your trek/trip into the mountains. You can buy lots of souvenirs there and eat well.

Disliked: It was very hard to find shop with souvenir t-shirts. It is located on Plaza de Armas in street next to the post, they have a nice selection. Dont bother looking for t-shirts on the mercado central.

Customer Travel Tip: There are not-obvious-to-find courtyards that have restaurants and travel shops all around them - worth exploring the alleyways near the main plaza.

Liked: Fantastic scenery

Disliked: Nothing particularly special about the town, it's really just a jumping off point for trekking etc.

Customer Travel Tip: In addition to the typical Laguna 69, you should also hike to the Laguna Churup. Its less popular but completely beautiful and a great day trek.

Liked: I loved the nature that surrounds Huaraz. Stunning mountains and glacier lakes make it a place not to be missed.

Disliked: The city isn't that great, but the natural beauty around it makes it worth it.

Customer Travel Tip: Laguna 69 is the real gem. Quillcayhuanca was beautiful too. Churrup was good but is a fair bit of effort and the scenery is neither varied nor interesting until you reach the lake so if it comes down to a choice, choose lake 69, otherwise do both.

Liked: Close to numerous hikes, that's what we came for. Both day trips and multi-day treks

Disliked: There's not much to do in the actual city but that's ok, you go for the hiking and sightseeing and that's what you get
