Customer Travel Tip: we took Cruz del Sur overnight bus and spent a few extra dollars for the VIP seats: totally worth it! Slept pretty well, didn't waste daylight hours, and didn't have to suffer being awake during the winding drive up into the mountains.
Liked: great location for excursions into the Cordilleras. Very budget-friendly, especially after suffering the tourist prices in Cusco! Laid back, easy-going atmosphere.
Disliked: nope - but were only there for a couple of days so didn't really see much

Customer Travel Tip: If you´re travelign during low season and you haven´t booked a tour yet, I wouldn´t stress since you could book the day of. HOWEVER do so early in the morning as most tours leave at like 9 AM the latest. Double check the weather and always bring layers just in case. I saw that the weather said 22 degrees celcius during the day but didn´t realize that at night it was bitter cold (and felt worse since our B&B didn´t have a heater in the room). Otherwise, enjoy! Huaraz is beautiful!
Liked: As an archaeology graduate, I really appreciated the excursion to Chan Chan, it was informative, insightful and very interesting. The only thing to watch out for is aclimatizing to the altitude and cold weather.
Disliked: Nothing really to complain about.
