Customer Travel Tip: Ladies wear a sports bra for sand buggying!

Liked: The scenery was completely different to anywhere else - like a real oasis, and the weather was beautiful in the day time.

Disliked: Taxis are necessary to and from Ica, I did not feel very safe walking alone in Ica and got a lot of unwanted attention. There is only one ATM in Huacachina and it was broken while I was there.

Customer Travel Tip: Take a good book

Liked: Chilled out area with great weather considering it was 'winter' season. Views are good around the lagoon and sanddunes with restaurants all around the lagoon to choose from.

Disliked: Not really - we went there to relax and that is what you get. There's not a great amount of nightlife except on Saturday night when there is a bar/dancefloor which can be fun.

Trip Type:
Backpacking / gap year Beach / sunbathing Sightseeing & culture Sports, adventure or outdoor activities

Customer Travel Tip: Stay for a night or two. Cab into Ica to book bus rides as the agencies in town are excellent ripoff artists, charging up to 40% more than what can be purchased directly from the companies stations in Ica. (note - there is a Cruz del Sol ticket agency in the Plaza del Sol mall...4 or 5 soles for a taxi ride one way.)

Liked: The views from stop the dunes are unforgettable. And you must try Sandboarding at least once.

Disliked: Isolated and expensive. If you aren't interested in the dunes, then don't come here.
