Customer Travel Tip: don't expect to get anywhere in a hurry. There are no trains; the airport is small and is quite a distance from downtown. Buses are frequent and cheap but slow and painfully uncomfortable and will stop anywhere for people to get on. They also stop about 22.00 Go to the tourist info centre on arrival. It's on Palma close to Independence Square. They speak good english there and can provide you with useful maps and suggestions

Liked: it's unlike any other S American capital and definitely feels like you are in the back of beyond.

Disliked: little to do. The city is not really geared to tourism or how to deal with international visitors There is frequent heavy rain in the mornings (early November). After that it can get very hot with VERY high humidity (90%)

Customer Travel Tip: Go to the mercado! Eat lots of good food! And definitely check out the shopping and museums.

Liked: Everything was approachable and easy to access. The peoplr at the mercado were friendly and we actuallt even checked out a mall during our free time. We were introduced by our hostel to free museums and trails and there was so much to do in so little time! I love how one can experience different things in this city as one day you can be in a street market browsing goods and another day you could be watching movies at the theatre.

Disliked: At night the mood got a bit dangerous. I would not travel at night.
