Customer Travel Tip: Skadar Lake is very close and well worth visiting.

Liked: People are friendly and it's easy to find your way around. I used Podgorica as a base for easy access to the airport and only stayed the night I arrived in Montenegro and the night before I left. It's close to many other more interesting and beautiful places in Montenegro.

Disliked: It's not a particularly interesting city and doesn't really stand out but Montenegro as a whole is a wonderful place.

Customer Travel Tip: Don't, unless you are using it for its good train and bus connections to visit other (nicer) places in Montenegro.

Liked: Nice base from which you can visit Montegro, quite cheap with good train and bus connections .

Disliked: The city itself is not worth anything, it is quite ugly and there isn't much to visit.

Customer Travel Tip: Dont stay for more than one night and only go if you need to.

Liked: .

Disliked: It was just a stopover for us on route to Sarajevo but I would not recommend it as a destination to visit. The town is small for a Capital city and very run down. I do not think it has still recovered from the war.

Customer Travel Tip: always agree taxi prices first with driver before getting in as they will try and do you.

Liked: not too much to see in the town itself but loved the views of the river and really loved the falls and canyon by Niagara restaurant, this is a aprrox 8 km taxi. remember to agree price with driver before getting in taxis and pre book him to pick you up later. we found two hours was enough time to see the falls and have lunch in restaurant .

Travel Type:
With my spouse / partner

Trip Type:
Backpacking / gap year

Customer Travel Tip: Use this as a base to see coastal regions, as bus travel is amazingly cheap and the bus stations are well run, think no homeless people to be seen as in other major cities.

Liked: Well it's a very spare major capital city! The food there was a real highlight, try the cevapi and their hamburgers are something else. Pod Volat was a great well priced restaurant, with lots of meat dishes. Seriously you can smell the barbecue in the air, so if you love meat you will love the food here.

Disliked: People were friendly and helpful, but it's not at all like other European capitals. The bridge was beautiful, and there was a lovely park in the centre and a Orthodox Church but that's about it really. Concrete jungle was what I disliked as there was a multitude of communist era ugly buildings everywhere. It was ok but nothing to rave about.
