Trip Type:
Beach / sunbathing Partying / nightlife

Customer Travel Tip: The best travel tip is to take the public bus to the downtown center area from the airport. It's easy to get on and it's a lot cheaper than a taxi. It's under 20 pesos.

Liked: I like the downtown center authentic Mexican culture part of Puerto Vallarta and the beach.

Disliked: I disliked the fact that it always rained and thunder and lightning in the afternoon which curtailed outside activities. I guess this is common for August though.

Trip Type:
Relaxation / spa

Customer Travel Tip: don't take a taxi from the airport - it is ridiculously overpriced and it is really easy and cheap to take public transport

Liked: Great beaches! Lots of place to relax and get a tan. The sea is calm and good for swimming, the water can be a bit cold though. There are lots of places to eat out or have a drink. Very nice opportunities for short trips to "playa escondida" or waterfalls.

Disliked: It is very crowded with tourists, so it is not the best choice if you are after somewhere quiet and peaceful.

Customer Travel Tip: Don't pay in dollars! Places pay awful exchange rates... of course I noticed after it happened... I withdraws pesos on the atm and was better!

Liked: Its has a really good style and was so relaxing walking on the boardwalk! Many stores, bars and restaurants and its great having the sea right next to you! Also the plaza and the iglesias were really nice! And for parting was amazing!

Disliked: I found it a bit pricy compared to other destinations, especially the restaurants.

Trip Type:
Beach / sunbathing Events / festivals Partying / nightlife Sightseeing & culture Sports, adventure or outdoor activities

Customer Travel Tip: My best travel tip for Puerto Vallarta would be not to shop or eat down at the main beach as it is quite expensive. There are a few places with decent prices on beer and drinks but most are overpriced. A block or two up from the beach is a lot cheaper.

Liked: Puerto Vallarta is very relaxed and laid back. Awesome place to vacation.

Disliked: The only thing I disliked about Puerto Vallarta was how everything down at the main beach areas is priced in American dollars and I live and work in Mexico so this is irrelevant to me.
