Customer Travel Tip: Stay in hotels around the old zocalo. It may have a bad reputation, but as long as you play it safe and be cautious this is the best place to be. Try to have more spanish phrases here as English is minimal; everyone is friendly and happy to help you learn but having more spanish makes it easier and cheaper.
Liked: It felt like real Mexicó. With hectic roads and swarms of people everywhere. The weather was amazing, but could be very humid. There were guides to show us around in the old zocalo, who pointed out great markets and sights. This was so helpful. The cliff divers was an amazing experience.
Disliked: Some locations were difficult to get to, once the buses stopped in certain directions. We had to miss the Botanical gardens and a lookout in the southern regions as a result. The traffic can get gridlocked and the buses become annoying. In the tourist areas the city is very superficial, although safe. This could be annoying for any traveller who likes to experience the real culture, and not the fake tourist scene.
