Trip Type:
Backpacking / gap year Beach / sunbathing Sports, adventure or outdoor activities

Customer Travel Tip: The islands (just pulau mumutik and manukan, Sapi is very crowded, try to get to Mantanani) Wild water rafting Climbing the Mt Kinabalu

Liked: The city is not as nice, but in a view minutes you can be in an amazing landscape. You can go to the islands and also take a taxi or book a trip to other places. But if you want to see more of Sabah you have to change your place, because if you want to go to the eastcoast it's a long trip.

Customer Travel Tip: walk around, check out the nightmarket near the ocean and the tunku abdul rahman park. (mamutik or mamakan). getting to sarawak, go by ferry to brunei first, then take a bus. make sure to visit MULU NATIONAL PARK

Liked: It was very surprising to us, this is a nice city! very asian, including the typical asian nightmarket with food, not to miss!!

Disliked: its very expensive getting on the mountain, and arranging this from KK, you will end up getting the expensive price. nothing to do about it!

Customer Travel Tip: One day is enough to do the walks, go to kinabalu park on your way to kk, not on your way to sandakan

Liked: This hostel is Kinabalu Park not Kota Kinabalu Kinabalu park is nice for just walking - climbing the mountain is very expensive and must be booked in advance. The walks are very peaceful with some nice views.

Disliked: Kinabalu park is a nightmare to get out of! - in the sandakan direction. Heading to KK is easy, but to sandakan alot of the buses are already full from KK so dont stop! You have to go to ranu or sepilok junction n change buses which is a pain and you never really know where you are??
