Customer Travel Tip: Better to visit KK from February to May for mountain climbing
Liked: beautiful place with sea and mountain. Good food with affordable price.
Disliked: the weather

Customer Travel Tip: Take the day trip out to the islands, snorkel and relax on the white sand beaches.
Liked: Kota Kinabalu is a beautiful city on the coast, with easy transport to beautiful tropical islands; part of the national marine park in Sabah. It is easy to get to and from with good flight, bus and taxi connections (though limited train travel available) and the city itself has the best of everything whilst being small enough to walk around.
Disliked: No.

Customer Travel Tip: Book the Mount Kinabalu trip early so as to secure your place. Book your tour at your hotel or hostel to save time and money. They may be expensive as it sounds but they are worth the price.
Liked: You could do many things in Kota Kinabalu, from scuba diving, climbing the Mount Kinabalu, ethnic village, rafting, ... All these activities are very worth doing. And the views and sceneries here are really great. If I can only go to one place in Malaysia, then that must be Sabah. The people here are also very nice and kind, unlike in West Malaysia.
Disliked: Not many food for vegetarian and the shops and restaurants close too early (some close at 4:00, many close at 8:00). Not enough places for shopping. The transportation is also not efficient as you have to wait a long time for the city bus and other buses. The bus from airport to city center also stops too early (6:00pm) so visitors must take the taxi.

Customer Travel Tip: Go and stays on the islands, don't stay in KK, just use the ferry boat to get the boats out. Shangri-La Rasa Ria Nature Reserve is great 65MYR but it is very difficult to get there on the bus, and the taxis want 80/90MYR one way. Get the free bus from KK to ONeBorneo then try and get another bus or cheapre taxi from there, as you're half way there from OneBorneo
Liked: visit to Rasa Ria Nature Reserve, river tours, shopping malls, free shuttle bus to OneBorneo
Disliked: Taxi drivers are rude and scam you. Very dirty, rats and cockroaches on streets everywhere. No tour offices, had to book trips through hostel, which were about 300% overpriced. They discourage you from using public transport they want you to get Taxis everywhere, even short walks, and pay London prices for it, became very frustrating. Unnattractive architecture, nothing to really see, just shopping malls

Customer Travel Tip: Visit the islands. Worth the trip. And try the local food!
Liked: Access to the 5 islands of the national park. The local food too. And I enjoyed the markets a lot. Some really good cheap massages are available too.
Disliked: Frustrating public transport (but that is all over Malaysia anyway). Not a particularly pretty city either. But an interesting place to spend a few days. It's a good hub/stopping point between other locations.
