Trip Type:
Backpacking / gap year Sightseeing & culture Sports, adventure or outdoor activities

Customer Travel Tip: Take the airport shuttle to visit Tanjung Aru beach. It can also get you to terminal2 from 8-7 pm on the hour. Taxi drivers want 20 for the airport. None of them use meters here, so avoid them all that you can.

Liked: It is a cheap and easy city to get familiar with.

Disliked: The buses are not easily accessible to foreigners. Lazy taxi drivers who want to smoke and drink coffee want to cheat us at every opportunity.

04 Jun 2014

Travel Type:
Alone

Trip Type:
Beach / sunbathing Sightseeing & culture Sports, adventure or outdoor activities

Customer Travel Tip: Better to join some local tour for special activities. First, some location is quite far from towm that I don't know how to go there. Second, the main town of KK is small. I can walk around within one day that may easy to get bored if just stay in town. There are a number of famous restaurants, but sometimes the quailty of some famous restaurants may not as good as promoted. Try and compare with others restaurants.

Liked: Islands and diving. Guys are nice. Majority of the locals can be communicated using english or chinese. Public security is ok.

Disliked: Public transport is not good enough. Seems not much public transport is available for the tourisits to travel around by themselves, they need to book car or join local tour for sightseeing. Taxi is the only option to the airport at midnight.
