Customer Travel Tip: If you're not going to rent a car, you'll need to hire a driver to see anything outside of the city. This was easy to do through my hotels, and it was cheaper than the private tour companies. The day tours were definitely worth it, but be aware that a half day itinerary averaged about $75 and a full day itinerary around $150.
Liked: I didn't know what to expect, but loved my trip to Jordan. Amman was very safe and everyone was very friendly. While the Citadel and Roman Theatre are the primary tourist sights in Amman, it provided a good hub for several day tours. There is much more to Jordan than Petra!
Disliked: The taxis were a challenge. Many drivers spoke no English, didn't know the area, and refused to use the meter- instead demanding two or three times more than they should.
