Customer Travel Tip: Get a bus pass or hire a bike to get around. JR pass not very useful within Kyoto for travel, good for trips out though.

Liked: Beautiful and interesting (more so than Tokyo!). Great base for exploring the region too.

Liked: Everything was relatively close together and I could get around on foot and public transit pretty easily. The people and culture were superb and I would like to go back to see more of the city.

Disliked: The subway/train systems were a bit hard to figure out, but I finally got the hang of it.

Customer Travel Tip: There are lots of temples in Kyoto hence do some research on those which are more popular amongst tourists since most temples are similar. Go to the bamboo forest in arasiyama! It's a very nice scenic sight.

Customer Travel Tip: For whisky-lovers: Yamazaki distillery is a mere 15 minute train-ride away. You'll need to book a tour beforehand. Just walk everwhere to get a feel for the place Pontocho ( street) at night for restaurants and a possible glimpse of a geisha. Temples, temples, temples..... Walk The philosopher's path Arashiyama hills/ temples Fushimi Inari gates/temple Nanzen-Ji temple, climb the main gate
