Customer Travel Tip: Buy the JR PASS!!! you can use it on the bus and trains around kyoto! And also around japan. Also use the bus pass in kyoto is very helpful

Liked: It is so much more relaxed compared to tokyo, lovely people and amazing temples, I'd say a good 3 days in Kyoto to go around the temples.

Customer Travel Tip: arrive early, as everything closes early. renting a bike can be convenient. buy a one-day bus pass if you will take the bus more than twice a day.

Liked: fabulous culture. very easy to get around thanks to good bus system

Disliked: stores closed way too early, beginning at around six o'clock.

Customer Travel Tip: Make sure you carry water with you, good and comfortable pair of shoes and an umbrella, also try and go to the temples as early as possible or when they're about to close ( with enough gap of time to get to see around) to avoid crowds

Customer Travel Tip: Take a hike upstream from Arashiyama along the Katsura river and go for a swim on a hot summer day!

Liked: The size of the town is perfect for me, you can get around quite well on your own two feet and then there are alot of busses and metros. You can get out of town easily if you want to se more nature and there is tonnes to see everywhere with temples, shrines etc every few blocks almost. Free Wifi!

Liked: It's so much culture and things to see.

Disliked: too many tourists. The buses are usually 15 - 30 min late. The city is very crowded, so the buses are usually very full. People who sell to tourists can be nagging allot

Customer Travel Tip: Rent a bike and go to all the sights. You see the city and dont have to pay for the bus

Disliked: It has some ugly buildings in the city center. All the main sights cost about 500yen, so if you want to see many places it ends up being quite expensive (on a backpacking budget)

Customer Travel Tip: You can visit the important places in 3 days. Don't forget to visit the Arashiyama monkey park. If you stay longer than 3 days, then hop on a train and check out Himeji castle or Nara (or both).

Liked: the sights are world-class: lots of gardens, temples and shrines, and they are all breathtakingly beautiful

Disliked: The food is not designed for European stomach. It is always very crowded at all the famous sights.

Customer Travel Tip: Spend at least 3 days for Kyoto, visit the sightseeing all around and go at least once for a dinner in a restaurant around Gijon.

Liked: Excellent sightseeing and culture. There are a lot of temples, shrines, gardens etc. Transport is very well organized and long distances can be traveled quickly. Very nice and polite people.

Customer Travel Tip: Try to understand the bus system in Kyoto, there are several buses going through same location. So, you may plan your trip without using the most popular (and packed) bus route (i.e. Raku 100 for example).
