Customer Travel Tip: Book a small group tour ,bike ride or cooking class .Do something different like a tasting florence wine and food tour.Don't spend your money on just getting to Florence to just roam aimlesslyaround the streets not really knowing just what you are missing .Spend the money on a good tour and you will understand what you could have misses. ,

Customer Travel Tip: Take the bus when you can. You're going to be doing a lot of walking and you'll be thankful for the rest when you can get it.

Liked: Florence is a beautiful city filled with culture and history at every turn.

Disliked: Line-ups to get into the main attractions (especially the Duomo) are crazy long, but I suppose that's to be expected at any tourist spot. I wish they had something like the Roma Pass that let's you skip the line - and if something like that exists, I wish it would have been advertised more.

Customer Travel Tip: Try to escape the tourists by venturing away from the center. Piazzalle Michelangelo up on the hill is a beautiful view, has a bronze copy of the David, and the best gelato in Florence on the way (at the bottom of the hill just before going through the gate) Aperitivo (free buffet with a drink purchase) is a great way to get some good Italian food for not too much.

Liked: So beautiful, so much culture, a must-see

Trip Type:

Customer Travel Tip: Culture: Palazzo Pitti - no queues, and half a dozen museums plus two parks all rolled into one - great! Shopping Fun: the flea market at Piazza dei Ciompi - everything from antiques to books to...... Excursions: a short trip to Fiesole - only 15 min. by bus, the view over Florence is great, the landscape too. And there's the Roman Theatre (Museum Fiesolanum).

Liked: Great city, loads of history & culture - something for every taste!

Disliked: Value for money - Florence isn't exactly cheap! Can put a crimp on partying / eating out if you're short on money.... Queues at the museums: for the Uffizi, the Dome, and Galleria dell' Accademia you HAVE TO get a reservation, else you spend hours and hours waiting, no matter how early you're there...
