Customer Travel Tip: Look for the abandoned monastery near the castle and explore it... it's spoooky but really cool. Visit some nearby places, there are many beaches a short bus ride away, and also inland villages like Camigliatella Silano.

Liked: The Old Town area is very beautiful, although I climbed up to the hilltop castle and it was closed down for renovation. The lack of the tourist mega-hoards in Central Italy was very refreshing. The locals were very friendly and helpful. I stayed in a good hostel. The surrounding area offers a lot of very good, relatively untouched sights.

Disliked: It was oppressively hot while I was there.
