Family Holiday Sightseeing & culture

Customer Travel Tip: Stay outside of the old city if you want quiet evenings. Research the area so you can make the best of the coutryside, as there iare so many interesting places to see.

Liked: We really enjoyed the old city, walking around during the day and seeing it at night. i The restaurants were amazing and the choice blew us away. The surrounding towns we travelled to were all different and we filled in our 3 days with memorable experiences. The weather was perfect and this part of France was so different to being in Provence or the Dorgogne area. That's what travel is all about, variety, and the Languedoc area a great experience.

Disliked: Nothing

Customer Travel Tip: Walk, don't drive - leave the car in the carparks surrounding the lower town (along the river) and it only takes 15-20mins to walk to all the interesting sites.

Liked: Felt very safe in such a beautiful setting, the castle itself is stunning (except for the other tourists) and would definitely go back.

Disliked: No

Trip Type:
Backpacking / gap year Sightseeing & culture

Customer Travel Tip: Give yourself time to explore both the old town and the new town, they're both beautiful! And try to catch a free concert at the church in the old town. Stunning accoustics.

Liked: Loved the old town! And the shopping was amazing. Tons of artisanal cheese, sausage, clothing, etc.

Disliked: The town shut down quite early, and the streets were deserted after midnight. I felt unsafe walking home alone.

Customer Travel Tip: From and back to airport, you should take the taxi if you have more than one people. It costs only 10 euro from AP to Carcassonne train station. Ticket price for bus per person is 5 euro, and it goes rather indirectly from train station to AP.

Liked: The castle is astonishing.

Trip Type:
Sightseeing & culture

Customer Travel Tip: If you are one to pack a day full of walking and touring around plan to have 2 full days there and check out the guided tours of the castle/city, I did one that turned out to be 3 hrs but it was so worth it.

Liked: The culture and history, there was so much to see. There is a supermarche and a few bakeries open on sundays and the monoprix is open on sunday mornings.

Disliked: A lot of the restaurants/bars/brasseries closed their kitchen early in the day which was annoying.
