Disliked: the weather (i was really unlucky!), the long drive to get to cornwall (the main road was a car park inbound and outbound :( )

Trip Type:
Visiting friends or family

Customer Travel Tip: Be very patient

Liked: The scenery and laid back approach.

Disliked: The public transport, the bus stop nearest the YHA hostel has a sign saying it services boty sides of the road, yet the bus came past, stopped about 20 or 30 metres away on the other side of the rd, then drove off. Hence a delay in my trip of 1 hour. The 1530 return bus from lands end just didn't turn up, thankfully the 1630 did. There were no explanations or apologies, another hour delay.

Customer Travel Tip: Don't stay at the YHA - the YMCA is much better. Take a walk to Newlyn and eat at The Smugglers restaurant.

Liked: I was really using it as a stopping gap to get to the Isles of Scilly so didn't see much of Penzance itself.

Disliked: I didn't really see much of it but it didn't seem like the most exciting town. It was ok though.

Customer Travel Tip: If hiking, take a good walking map and a compass, and wear trousers thick enough to keep out nettle stings! Alternatively, St Michael's Way is a very well-maintained footpath, from Marazion to Ludgvan, and runs through an RSPB site near Marazion.

Liked: Friendly locals, subtropical gardens, South West coastpath to Marazion, and general walking/landscape/weather.

Disliked: Some of the footpaths are very hard to find - many have vanished altogether - either overgrown or crops are being grown on them.
