Customer Travel Tip: Enjoy!

Liked: Dahab is a beautiful, relaxed beach town with a warm community of friendly locals. I think it is a much nicer place to stay than Sharm and if you you have to make a choice I would recommend Dahab.

Disliked: As in most tourist locations in Egypt, the local shopkeepers can be a bit pushy although they are cheerful and obviously just trying to make a living. It can get a little annoying and hard to believe that their intense interest in you is genuine. It kind of detracts from the low-key vibe of Dahab and actually intimidates a lot of people into NOT buying as much as they would if they were just left alone to browse. I know I would buy a lot more and spend more time shopping if I weren't being asked to explain where I am from, what my name is, why I'm not married, why I'm traveling alone and why I don't have children to every single vendor along the way.

Travel Type:
Alone

Trip Type:
Beach / sunbathing Sports, adventure or outdoor activities

Customer Travel Tip: Self-cater, or go for the pizza and falafel. I didn't like the food much. Food was overpriced on the promenade. Get into the back streets to eat otherwise you'll pay too much and it's not that great.

Liked: Snorkeling!!

Disliked: A bit boring.

Customer Travel Tip: Avoid Egyptian holidays as the city is packed beyond its capacity

Liked: Relaxing vibe, fresh seafood, tons of dive operations (try Scuba Seekers if you're looking for top notch instructors)

Customer Travel Tip: Make sure to contact the hotel you're reserving ahead of time to make sure they received your booking. If you go there during the holidays without reserving first either you will have difficulty finding a decent place to stay at, or you will be overcharged for the same room that someone else is paying half as much for. In terms of places to go: Ras Abu Galom is a must.

Liked: The different beaches you can go to, the value for your money, the relaxed atmosphere, the variety of food options.

Disliked: No
