Liked: It was hot. Good place to go shopping and stock up on supplies.
Disliked: Noisy, chaotic, polluted and not a very safe city.

Customer Travel Tip: If you'd like to stay close to the many activities, bars and restaurants downtown has to offer stay in the las peñas neighborhood.
Liked: The MAAC museum downtown was a highlight. Guayaquil also has many nice parks.

Customer Travel Tip: Don't stay here, not worth it. If you are going to Galapagos, it is cheaper to get a flight from here, but it is an absolute waste of time

Disliked: Very depressing, no culture, not for tourists, also very expensive!

Customer Travel Tip: BEST AVOIDED. DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER STAYING HERE.
Liked: Absolutely nothing to like about this hostel. Thinking of staying at this hostel? Be warned, stay away from this hostel.
Disliked: STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOSTEL‼ I booked this hostel through hostelbookers.com and i have received confirmation e-mail. I showed up at the hostel and asked staffs to check me in,showing confirmation e-mail to them. What they told me then really shocked me because they told me they had no room that was available. They knew I was coming, apparently,but took group of people came asked for room instead of me. They did not even make apology and they were rude.please go somewhere else.

Customer Travel Tip: The mountain in the left of the malecon (with the lighthouse) climb it! There are heaps of friendly little bars and restaurant next to the 400 stairs.
Liked: Not much.. but see my tip

Customer Travel Tip: Roasting hot all the time, dress accordingly
Liked: Quite a modern city, could easily be mistaken for a town in the USA. One of the safest cities I've been in in south America.
Disliked: As it was so modern, I didn't feel I was discovering the true culture of Ecuador in it.

Customer Travel Tip: Don't have any tips on Guayaquil as I did not do anything here except for a sleepover on my trip from and to Galapagos.
Liked: Only stayed at Guayaquil as a stopover on my flight to Galapagos
Disliked: Did not see anything so cannot dislike what I haven't seen.
