Customer Travel Tip: Transit the place after a day or so. See Central Park & Iguana Park, then LEAVE and go to the Beach; SOMEWhere.

Liked: al Central' Par'que' y Malecon. Market end@ S end of Male'con & Andean Market @ extreme North end of Mal'con.

Disliked: NOISE, NOISE, NOISE: That's enough reason for ME to not like the place. Can't sleep from early in the A.M. in Guayaquil due mainly to Bus Traffic & Police Whistles.

Customer Travel Tip: Know rudimentary Spanish, go with a friend or a group, stay at Tangara Guest House or on the Malecon.

Liked: The Malecon and the various parks were lovely.

Disliked: I disliked that I could not hail a taxi on the street nor use public buses according to the US Embassy and my host because of the danger. That left walking or having someone call a taxi for me. Having someone call a taxi after one has walked miles and wants to go home is not as simple as it might seem.

Customer Travel Tip: Only stay as long as you need.

Liked: The Malecon is nice and walking up and down the hill at Las Penas is a nice way to kill some time.

Disliked: Everything else. It's not a bad place - there's just no reason to visit without necessary reason. It's also touted as a place to pick up last minute Galapagos cruises. Not true - stick to Quito for that.
