Customer Travel Tip: We left on a Saturday morning and noticed that it was already busier than it had been our previous days there. Keep that in mind in case you are looking for a quieter or livelier experience.
Liked: It's really easy to get around and see most things on foot. Plenty of restful as well as adventuresome activities.
Disliked: The restaurants are primarily geared towards fast food.

Liked: Chilled out vibe. Casa Hood is a really chilled out restaurant with tasty food and good wifi.
Disliked: Maybe we were there at the wrong time but there was no one around and the bars everywhere was dead.

Liked: Beautiful scenery. Amazon tour. Hiking trails all around. Great place to spend Samana Santa.

Disliked: More expensive than other cities in the country. Too many tourists, difficult to mix with the locals

Customer Travel Tip: Stay a long time! There is so much to do and explore.
Liked: Lots of activities, you can relax or do outdoorsy stuff, lots of options for whatever you feel like doing. (zip ling, rafting, mountain biking, atv, hiking, etc.) Pretty good food in town, especially at the local market. Also a variety of restaurants.
Disliked: Not a big party town, pretty small, quiet. Bring bug spray.

Customer Travel Tip: The hike to Casa del Árbol isn't well-signed but well worth the walk for the beautiful views. Ask the local farmers for directions if you get lost along the way.
Liked: So many adventure activities on offer. Friendly people, beautiful scenery, lots of budget options for accommodation available to travellers. Stocked supermarket and everything is within walking distance. The city feels very safe.
Disliked: I even liked the clouds that continuously covered the mountains - made a cool mystical atmosphere.

Customer Travel Tip: Don't feel like you need to book a hostel right in town. Everything is walking distance here (except for activities etc)
Liked: It's a cool little town with plenty of adventures to be had. It's also the perfect place to take a few days to chill out if you need it.

Customer Travel Tip: If you go to the Casa del Arbol, get the public bus for $1 at 2pm. It's the cheapest way to get there and if it turns out you can't see much due to the weather, at least you won't have wasted $20 on a taxi or a tour.
Liked: Weather, scenery, range of activities and tourist friendly facilities.
Disliked: Only the overpriced tourists restaurants. It was quite tricky to find the cheaper places where the locals eat.
