Customer Travel Tip: Unless you are using it as a base to explore the surrounding region, the city is otherwise only worth staying in for one day.
Liked: Olomouc is a pretty city.
Disliked: There is not much to do in the city. The entire old town can be checked out within an hour or two. Not much to do beyond look at old buildings and interesting architecture.

Customer Travel Tip: Plan on more time than you think you need for such a small city, you'll be happy you did! Amazing place.
Liked: An undiscovered gem!
Disliked: Not a big city of course, but that's not why you come to Olomouc. Expect small city, non-touristy Czech Republic, wonderful!

Customer Travel Tip: Definitely stay at Poet's Corner. The bar inside the soviet plane is all novelty - only 1 drink required there.
Liked: Great value - could eat like a king for next to nothing. Beer in Czech Republic is excellent. Pretty old town with some good site. If you go when students are in school the nightlife would be insane.
Disliked: ATM's dish out 2000 krona notes which are difficult to break

Customer Travel Tip: Nice restaurants cost a lot less than similar joints in Prague.
Liked: Lively and beautiful city yet you don't see too many tourists (or tourists traps). No mass-produced souvenir shops. A lot of good restaurants and pubs. Very relaxing atmosphere.
Disliked: Not so many shops in the city center.

Customer Travel Tip: Take your time and enjoy the relaxed feel of the city :-)
Liked: It's a lovely little town in Moravia with a real studenty feel about it. It's small enough to walk around and it's so relaxed on the weekends. There are lots of excursions you can do in one day and it's perfect if you just want to relax. There are some nice sights to see around the city and the pivovars are good too! People are friendly and many actually speak quite good English, which is a bonus for those who struggle with Czech!
Disliked: I suppose it's not really the place to go for people who are looking for a lively city experience with tonnes of museums or 24-hour buzzing nightlife. In winter it can be more difficult to get to the sights outside of the city as the bus services are limited and moreso in the winter time, but there's still enough for a couple of days without that.

Customer Travel Tip: Do eat the famous chocolate cake in Cafe 87, do drink the locally brewed beer.
Liked: Olomouc is compact but fits a lot in, there is an easy to use transport system that means getting round is easy, though most of the time you can get by on foot. Great pubs with home brewed beer and delicious Czech / Moravian food that doesn't cost very much.
Disliked: I think there are abouts 25,000 students in Olomouc, they account for about a fifth of the population, but they tend to go home on a weekend so the weekend I stayed everything was a bit quiet, but it was a relaxing way to end my fortnight in the Czech Republic.
