Customer Travel Tip: Do not visit Paphos Castle; the cost of the ticket enables you to climb some 10 stairs and there's nothing interesting to see on the inside. Better to take some pictures on the outside and move on.

Liked: Great Mediteranean cuisine, great historical site.

Disliked: Traffic, as everywhere in Cyprus, pedestrians are the least respected people.

Customer Travel Tip: => Travel by bus (with your student card, and ask every time a "student price". It won't be proposed if you don't) => Don't bet on cheap prices => Prepare your sun cream and biafine, even if you are already tanned => Try the Meze, but not in touristic places (21€/person max for a fish meze, 18€/person for a meat one)

Liked: Sunny and hot weather, in a charming place next to the sea : a perfect decor for holidays.

Disliked: However, the standart of living is quite high (island constraints) and the city itself is definitely not that nice (a lot of ruins, random worksites and dirty places). No big supermarket in the city centre : you may have to make your errants in little shops. AND Easter is not the same than in France, and we had the bad luck to arrive on the wrong week : transportation perturbated and other shops/restaurants openings not accurate for this period.

Customer Travel Tip: If you have a drivers licence hire a car so that you can enjoy your time there to the maximum. If you don't have a licence Public transport is very cheap - 1 euro for a bus so catch that instead of tour buses.

Liked: Nice people, nice weather. Easy to get to the various archaeological sites.

Disliked: The public transport runs a limited service with last buses at 6pm

Customer Travel Tip: Rent a car cheaply to see all the best sights both in Paphos and it the rest of the island

Liked: Weather was consistently good. Friendly town with lots of amenities. Good English spoken everywhere- tourist friendly. Easy to travel around to other parts of Cyprus by car rental.

Disliked: Although it was tourist friendly there wasn't much of the Greek culture there as everything was set up for the English. This made it easy for us however it would have been nice to see more of the culture.

Trip Type:
Beach / sunbathing Family Holiday Romantic getaway Sightseeing & culture Sports, adventure or outdoor activities Visiting friends or family

Customer Travel Tip: If you are there longer and want to see also the non-mainstream sights, definitely try hiring a car - maybe even a 4x4, to visit also the beautiful Akamas peninsula with some of the nicest and more secluded beaches. Also you might think about visiting Cyprus in autumn (october, november), when it cools down. Btw: we were quite surprised to find out you can ski/snowboard there every winter:)

Liked: Cheap transportation (1 € for one ride and 3 € for the whole day in the entire Pahos area - students get everything half-price) and a lot of secluded places all around the area make this region a very nice place to visit. Also the people are very friendly and easygoing, so all-in-all it can be either a very relaxing vacation or an exciting adventure.

Disliked: Hardly any busses in the late afternoon/evening. This can sometimes really be a bother, especially around the town of Polis in the north of the region. The city of Paphos itself and the nearby famous beaches (e.g. Coral Bay) can get very crowded, but the nearby Akamas peninsula and the region around the town of Polis (still in the Paphos area) can be a very good remedy against those sort of nuisances:)

Customer Travel Tip: It was very very hot when we were there in Polis. Buy a sunumbrella and go to Afrodites baths - very nice secluded beach!

Liked: Friendly and cosy. Cheap. Good food in the restaurants. We stayed in POLIS. Paphos is a larger city 30 mins away with more shopping. restaurants, clubs etc..

Disliked: The local busses from Polis to Paphos dont go after 18.00, youu have to take a taxi around 45 Euros. Most people have a car when they stay in Polis. We didint, but you can go to Latski (3km away) for 8Euros if you want to party,
