Customer Travel Tip: Spend a few more days here than planned so you can explore the island.

Liked: Korcula is a beautiful town, and the rest of the island is great to explore. The old town is not as saturated with shops as places like Split and Trogir, which is nice.

Disliked: It seems a bit more expensive thn the other places I visited. More ferry options to get there would be great, as currently the selection is much more limited than other major destinations.

Customer Travel Tip: Rent a canoe and paddle your way to some of the beautiful, small and secluded beaches.

Liked: A peaceful and lovely island. Not too taken over by tourists. Lots of secluded beaches. Clear waters are great for scuba diving or snorkeling! For scuba divers, I would recommend the Dupin Dive Centre held by a Brittish couple named Steve and Jan. www.croatiadiving.com

Disliked: The beaches are quite rocky.

Beach / sunbathing Romantic getaway Sightseeing & culture

Customer Travel Tip: Make sure you look into your onward travel as many people got caught out as they wanted to get back to Dubrovnik by boat but the places are very limited during high season. People were lining up for tickets at 7am and then only 4 people managed to get on the boat. There are alternative routes of travel i.e. by bus or minibus but by boat is far preferable. The route we did was much better as there was no problem with tickets. We went from Dubrovnik to Korcula and then Korcula to Miljet and then Miljet back to Dubrovnik. We had no problems getting any of the tickets doing it this way round, but it seems going from Korcula to Dubrovnik is slightly more tricky.

Liked: It is a beautiful island with a lovely city to explore and you can take trips to other parts of the island.

Disliked: Nothing.

Customer Travel Tip: stay at old town as it is very close to the 2 ports, and public transport is not very convenient in this island (unless the hotel/hostel provides free pick-up and drop-off)

Liked: love the small and lovely old town, everything's within short walking distance.

Disliked: The public transport was limited. The main bus station only have limited trips to the popular places in the island everyday. This caused difficulty exploring the island.

Customer Travel Tip: Avoid the Marco Polo 'museum'. Don't spend more than 3 days there, plenty of better islands around.

Liked: History, nice old town, great beaches and snorkelling - lots of opportunities to explore.

Disliked: Can be a little bit boring, they also shove Marco Polo down your throat - seriously how many 'Marco Polo' theme shops can you cram in a tiny historic centre. And seriously avoid the Marco Polo 'museum'.

Customer Travel Tip: Don't miss eating at Pupnat's Konoba Mate. Fantastic food - all home made with delicious ingredients and interesting combinations of flavours. Can especially recommend the mixed starter - home dry cured ham, marinated aubergines, range of delicious cow and sheep cheeses, fig stuffed with goats cheese, olives, sun dried tomatoes, smoked ham pate etc. Very lovely welcoming, friendly and humorous family. A delightful experience.

Liked: Interesting evidence of traditional life e.g. Ethno house Barilo in Blato and olive oil museum in Vela Luka. Fabulous restaurant - Konoba Mate - at Pupnat - worth going to the island for this alone! Attractive coastline with quiet bays and lovely clear water for swimming. Some attractive old towns. Lovely landscape of terraced hillsides with olives and vines and many fig, walnut and almond trees.

Disliked: There has been some ugly modern development in certain areas and there is a lot of concrete. Many of the original old stone houses have been left to fall into ruins and modern villas built instead. These modern villas are not built to cope with hot weather so avoid any without air conditioning! There are some nice pebbly beaches but access to the water is often by concrete blocks. With some notable exceptions we found the inhabitants less than welcoming and often slightly surly, even in tourist offices (!) despite attempting to behave politely and respectfully and learn some phrases in Croatian.

Customer Travel Tip: Renting a scooter for the day and go to Lumbarda is quite fun.

Liked: It's sunny, awesome beaches, the water is SO clear and fresh, it is the best part. Not so crowded like Dubrovnik and more trees around the old town.

Disliked: The food is really repeating from a restaurant to an other and really expensive for what you get in the plate sometimes.
