Customer Travel Tip: Futian is probably one of the best districts, try to stay near there.

Liked: Modern city, great shopping. Pretty good night life. Good location: close to Hong Kong, close to the beach, close to other good cities like Guangzhou.

Disliked: The weather is extremely humid, and there's not much cultural China in the sense that it's a new city so there isn't a lot of history or old historical sites to see.

Customer Travel Tip: Take the ferry from HK & Macau ferry terminal to Shekou. The border crossing is very quick and easy. Arrive 15 minutes before departure. No long queues at immigration like the other border crossings. You can get from central HK to Shenzhen in under 1.5 hours.

Liked: Big modern city. My first time anywhere in China. A good introduction to the country, even if not exactly representative of China as a whole.

Disliked: Western city, so not enough Chinese culture, however there are still heaps of places to eat great Chinese food! Extremely humid during my visit (June 2013)
