30 Nov 2012

Travel Type:
As a family with children

Trip Type:
Beach / sunbathing City break Family Holiday Sightseeing & culture

Customer Travel Tip: Go to volcano park, go to Holiday beach, use buses, explore city, eat out, then leave, have a guide book

Liked: Cheap buses and taxis everywhere, experience of a provincial city and interesting street life , genuinely felt safe walking around and people helpful, lot of street markets, plenty of food to buy, beaches worth a look but not that appealing for swimming, still warm in november

Disliked: One night, two days is enough, traffic, scooters can be crazy coming from all directions, noisy, busy, crowded, but then you could say that these are positives too if you want to stay in a Chinese city. The railway station and airport is way out of town, not convenient

03 Oct 2012

Travel Type:
Alone

Trip Type:
Beach / sunbathing Sports, adventure or outdoor activities

Customer Travel Tip: Fly into Haikou, then go somewhere else by train.

Liked: Haikou should be used more as a hub to get to the more isolated parts of the island. Haikou itself is not worth visiting.

Disliked: Local bars/nightclubs charge too much for a mediocre experience. Beaches are dirty.
