Customer Travel Tip: 高兴。 Enjoy

Liked: it was my 5th time in Beiiing, I lived and studied here before but even now, eveyday spent in this city is a neverending discovery, both good and bad. i adore beijing for its nightlife in wudaokou and sanlitun, its KTVs, its.amazing hutongs, its crazy culture. everything keeps changing, the city is growing more and more and everything you recently discovered is already obsolete. it's kind of a special thing to experience. You must leave the cliches and comparisons behind in order to fully appreciate the city. Many secret places are hidden and need to be discovered. my piece of advice? go for it. fully. explore the hutongs, have a laugh with the locals. enjoy your stay! 北京, 我爱你。很谢谢你。

Disliked: the spitting. the pushing. the yelliing。 哈哈哈

Customer Travel Tip: Explore the area north of Forbidden city for restaurants and interesting streets.

Liked: Subway systemand public transport was great and cheap. Food is always good. Easy access to the great wall and other sights.

Disliked: Often too many people and noise and some of the 'sights' were'n't as amazing as I was hoping. Tienanmen square for example.

Trip Type:
Sightseeing & culture

Customer Travel Tip: Don't be afraid to take your time between visiting all the attractions. Choose the ones you'd like to see, and leave lots of time for eating, relaxing, or simply walking through the small streets to get away from all the larger-than-life attraction that Beijing has on show. Scams are also huge here, and I was constantly surprised by the number of visitors falling for dishonest tours, etc. Don't let this happen to you; if you don't speak Chinese, just book a tour with a hostel (doesn't have to be yours) or somewhere that has reviews for you to read. Off the beaten track is great, but it's better to be sure in a city like Beijing than to take a risk.

Liked: There are so many things to do in Beijing; we stayed there for four days and couldve easily used four more without getting bored. The parks are beautiful, the sights don't disappoint, and the food is absolutely delicious! I could've eaten all day, everyday if there weren't so many other things to do and see.

Disliked: In the more crowded areas, traffic (including bike and foot traffic) is an absolute nightmare. Walking from one point to the other can become a discouraging obstacle course because of all the fences that are set up and the endless "security checks" (judging by the speed at which people are sent through, it's much more about the illusion of safety than anything else) can become tiring very quickly.

Customer Travel Tip: Bring wet wipes for sweat and toilets.

Liked: Food of course, and the sightseeing. Subway is very cheap too.

Disliked: Buses are all in Chinese, which I understand. However, it would be nice if the signs noted when they stopped at subway stations like they do in Seoul. Also, the nightlife didn't seem that great, but then again maybe I went to the wrong part of the city.

Customer Travel Tip: Learn the subway map Learn basic phrases because they don't speak too much English in Beijing Just try everything, don't let culture shock get in the way.

Liked: I have lived in Beijing for two months, the food is great, partying is pretty decent, but for what i mainly like which is the outdoors Beijing itself has little of, but it is an hour or two away from great natural parks, the Great Wall and has a lot of culture.

Disliked: Pollution for sure. Shopping and haggling is quite a drag, but can be fun for those who like to do that.
