Customer Travel Tip: spend no more than a day. seems the beaches outside of the city with the nice white sand and clear water are where it is at.

Liked: nice to be so close to the beach.

Disliked: outside of the old town and being near a beach, not much else to offer. also did not like having to look over my shoulder every 30 seconds.

Customer Travel Tip: Der Mercado Modelo mit dem frischen Fisch.

Liked: Das pulsierende Leben.

Disliked: Die Infrastruktur ist noch etwas schwach.

Disliked: some people can disturb you , safe but sometimes not relly pleasant

Customer Travel Tip: Make sure you visit on a Tuesday night when there is plenty of free live music on the streets and samba parties.

Liked: The African culture everywhere you turn. The many festivities on every night - free music and entertainment. The town is so photographic and pretty. Beautiful beaches only a walk or bus ride away - special mention to the beach within the museum grounds (closed on Mondays though!).

Disliked: Probably having to be extra careful with my camera and bag. There are police on most corners and streets though, which makes you feel a little more at ease. But be weary and don't walk down deserted streets or areas! Sundays and Mondays are pretty quiet and most things are closed, but a good time to chill from the party weekend.

Customer Travel Tip: Everyone should do Salvador carnaval once in their life! There's nothing like it for sounds, dancing, vitality and fun!

Liked: Salvador is unique, has an amazing atmosphere during carnaval and is a colourful, vibrant and stunning place to party! The architecture is beautiful in Pelourinho and the week I spent here was great!!

Disliked: The area is poor and with that comes social problems - I didn't feel unsafe or threatened and the locals I met were generally lovely, warm and friendly but you do see some sad sights along the way.

Customer Travel Tip: go also to the island of morro de sau paulo

Customer Travel Tip: don´t eat the street food and if you can stay in Pelo and also Barra!

Liked: Culture, beach, nice restaurants, friendly people (most) and a little cheaper than Southern Brazil

Disliked: Street food gave me food poisoning!

Customer Travel Tip: go here! I really liked this city

Liked: Loved the historic centre, would recommend staying here

Disliked: Barra Beach - the beach itself was really dirty and too many people. Although the nightlife was good.

Customer Travel Tip: I wouldn't reccomend this place at all, I will never return.

Liked: Carnival was a good time and some of Historic areas are nice for sightseeing

Disliked: Its all smells awful like the inside of a portable toilet and the crime is some of the worst I have ever seen. One night I walked out of my Hostel and a 10 year kid was sitting there smoking crack. The beggers are really aggressive, they touch you and harass you and threaten you if you don't give them money which is always for drugs

Customer Travel Tip: book your bus ticket away the day you arrive into the bus station at Bahia otherwise its an hour on the bus back to the bus station to do it there is a bus ticket kiosk in the old town but bus tickets for sale are only in Bahia not for destinations out of Bahia

Customer Travel Tip: Only take out the esentials with you - there are lots of muggings.

Liked: Brilliant Caribbean feel! :)

Disliked: The mozzies were everywhere.

Customer Travel Tip: restaurant "CABANA DA CELY"

Liked: most of the people are relaxed and chilled out.. good weather & good food ! :) plus the beaches

Disliked: seems a little bit abandoned, and even dangerous at night

Customer Travel Tip: for the buses- Learn exactly the area of your pousada and exatly where you're going as the buses are abit confusing! Always ask to confirm where you're going!

Liked: Fantastic must visit!

Disliked: Hard to cross roads as everyone is a looney driver!

Customer Travel Tip: Keep you belongings close, dont walk late at night and try to look like you know where you are walking to without getting a map out.

Liked: The culture, the boat trips, the weather, the food. The people were great.

Disliked: Walking alone at night is uncomfortable. People stop to ask if you are married. Always say yes!!
