Customer Travel Tip: Three days in the city is enough time to see everything you want to. If you have more than that, plan to go to an island or another part of Bahia.

Liked: The pelorhino was spectacular. Tons to do and to see. The Bale Folklorico was definitely worth seeing and seeing a candomble ceremony was a highlight of the whole trip.

Disliked: Nope.

Customer Travel Tip: Stay as close to Pelourinho or the beach (depending on what you want) as you can, on the further out parts there is very little for tourists to do.

Liked: Now staying in hostel beside beach which is great. Some really good seafood restaurants by the waterfront. Chilled atmosphere.

Disliked: Has a reputation for being unsafe but I never felt that way.

Trip Type:
Backpacking / gap year

Customer Travel Tip: Try staying in a couple of parts of the city so you're not travelling lots between activities. We stayed in Rio Vermelho, Barra and Pelourinho to get a real feel for the city

Liked: A beautiful city, best enjoyed over a few days, to get a feel for the people and the vibrant way of life. Very friendly people- particularly in social circumstances! A great range of activities in the different parts of the city- for example up the coast in Rio Vermelho or the several great beaches beyond.

Disliked: The historic centre is obviously quite small and so exploring other parts of Salvador can mean quite lengthy journeys on public transport worth it of course.
