Customer Travel Tip: A tip for the northwest in general, if i had my time again i would skip humauaca and stay in iruya, its amazing but indidnt get to stay and am disappointed!

Liked: Everything, but very touristy

Disliked: Heaps of tourists but doesnt distract fromits charm. Can be overpriced

Customer Travel Tip: it is a very good initial position for tours into the quebrada de humahuaca and for seeing the other villages purmarca and humahuaca, but tilcara itself is nothing special, don't stay for too long..

Liked: nice cute little village in the middle of the colored mountains of the quebrada de humahuaca

Disliked: in the middle of nowhere, no places to go out, getting bored after 2 days

Customer Travel Tip: The hike to the Garganta del Diablo and the 10 Pesos for the entrance to the canyon are worth it...

Liked: It's location and the old Inka town (Pucará).

Disliked: Tilcara is a bit "touristy". Humahuaca is the better choice if you want to get a bit more of the "real" atmosphere.

Customer Travel Tip: If you go to popular restaurants, book in advance. Most places we found nice were very full.

Customer Travel Tip: Check out the Penas, and craft markets :-)!

Liked: A lovely town which is very relaxed and slow-paced. Gorgeous surroundings. Pleanty to do near by, and buses are quite easy to figure out. I love my time here!

Customer Travel Tip: There are some amazing hot fresh cheese empanadas they sell on the street which are a must.

Liked: What a lovely village! Completely different from anything else I've experienced in Argentina. Was a refreshing change set in the mountains.

Customer Travel Tip: Quien llegue a Tilcara debe recorrer la ciudad, visitar el Pucará, el Cerro de la Cruz, Salinas Grandes, Purmamarca, las Cuevas, la Garganta del Diablo... Whoever reaches Tilcara must walk around, visit the Pucara, the Cerro de la Cruz, Salinas Grandes, Purmamarca, the Caves, the Devil's Throat...

Liked: Tilcara resultó ser lo mejor de nuestras vacaciones. Nos gustó todo. Desde los paisajes, hasta la cordialidad de su gente. Sus peñas y sus calles adoquinadas. Tilcara proved to be the highlight of our vacation. We liked everything. From landscapes, to the friendly people. Its peñas and cobbled streets.

Disliked: Absolutamente nada! Es un lugar bellísimo! Absolutely nothing! It's a beautiful place!

Customer Travel Tip: See if you can go during a festival. It's incredible, the locals are super welcoming and you'll have so much fun. The town is tiny, you can get everywhere in 5 minutes.

Liked: The further north you go, the more weird and fun it gets. Tilcara is a great place with a big welcome and much fun to offer.

Customer Travel Tip: Dont go in Janurary/February... its a lot more expensive and raining a lot!

Liked: Its a small village with a lot of alternative young people and travellers staying there. Its beautiful and around Tilcara you can see a lot of magnificant things.

Customer Travel Tip: Hiking around Tilcara, one trip to Purnamarca, another to Salinas, Quebrada de Humahuaca and then heading forward to Iruya and from there hiking to San Isidro, a tiny little village in the middle of the high mountains! Take the buses, don't necessarily need guides, people are all friendly and helpful!

Liked: a little town in the middle of the mountains, peaceful although busy with tourists.

Disliked: it is definitely a tourist spot (like all other towns around) but absolutely a great spot to stay as it is right in the middle and buses running almost anytime...
