Customer Travel Tip: Go with a friend. Learning through the eyes of another is the best experience one could have. I was lucky enough to have a few friends living there but if you were to visit MDQ with a friend, you'd have an equal and brilliant time.

Liked: The people. The place itself is quite new by our snobby standards so there is little of surprise but the people of Mar del Plata are the friendliest I've yet to meet.

Disliked: The roads. Public transport, traffic laws, broken highways; they are all to be avoided by you. Otherwise they're avoided by the locals.

Customer Travel Tip: Bring some friends and rather choose the beaches further south in the city for swimming.

Liked: It's a clean, modern city and a great weekend getaway. To me it also seemed a very safe place.

Disliked: The beaches near the center of the city are overcrowded. It seemed there were more people than sand at the beach and the water is not clear.

Customer Travel Tip: Have coffee in La Boston. Don't stay north of the Casino Provincial. Try the south beaches. Don't take the Ferrobaires train.

Liked: Mar del Plata is the only big city in the Buenos Aires province beach coast. I love cities so Mar del Plata is hands down my favorite beach town in Argentina. It has a good nightlife in both Alem street and in the south beaches.

Disliked: Beaches can get really crowded in the summer months (Jan-Feb). Mar del Plata is the opposite to an exclusive resort.
