It’s time to let the pictures do the talking for the City of Angels, aka Los Angeles. If you want a hostel, a cheap LA hotel, tips and advice on LA road trips, LA’s weird museums or a look at some of the strange and weird events in LA then click through, but for now check out these cool piccies…
This awesome action shot captures Russell Martin, one of LA Dodgers best hitters, scrambling to make his base. Alongside basketball, baseball is one of the main sports in LA and the Dodgers are the city’s number one team with six world series wins in their illustrious history.
The Hollywood Walk of Fame up to Hollywood Studios is the stuff of… well… Hollywood and no trip to LA would be the same without checking it out. Everyone’s got a mention from Sly Stallone to Mickey Mouse. ‘Streetmosphere’ actors and Jack Sparrow lookalikes give the walk added glitz and glamour.
This muscley little fella is an example of the honed bodies you’ll find working out in the weights pen at Muscle Beach Venice. Arnie was a regular back in the day and Hulk Hogan once famously appeared in an episode of Baywatch working out there.
Sitting on the south-facing slopes of Mount Hollywood in Griffith Park, Griffith Park Observatory is a popular tourist attraction thanks to its extensive array of space and science related displays. It also provides stunning views of the LA Basin, Hollywood and the Pacific Ocean which are worth the climb alone.
You may even bump into the Mirror Man!
Street artists and street performers are a prominent feature of Venice Beach and Boulevard. Many are self-taught and manage to eek out enough of a living to make another sculpture. As with all street art, there’s good, bad and the plain ugly but we thought this effort was half decent!
You didn’t really think we’d do a picture post on LA without including the Hollywood sign did you? This is LA’s most iconic landmark and kind of sums up what LA is all about- big, loud and proud! Two year ago, there was talk of the sign being knocked down to make way for some new housing development behind them until Hugh Heffner stepped in and bought the land. Cometh the hour, cometh the Heff!
Like what you’ve seen of Los Angeles? Then book yourself an LA hostel now so you can experience Hollywood and Venice Beach for yourself!
