Accommodation for Oktoberfest 2014 is disappearing fast. Dates for this year’s fest are September 20th to October 5th, and if you’re planning on joining in the celebrations in Munich you’re just a few hostels away from sleeping in a cardboard box (slight exaggeration, but you know what we mean).
And you don’t want that. Not when you could end your boozy days by laying your hazy head and tired stein-carrying arms in a comfy bed, and waking up to gorge on an all-inclusive breakfast.
Expect to pay between EUR 50-80 per person for the options below… prices will rise the closer it gets to the event, expect beds to go fast!
1. Munich studentsville
Haus International is perfect for students looking for a good time. Anyone young, or young at heart, will enjoy the hostel and the area which is close the Olympic Park in Schwabing. It’s near public transport, has free Wi-Fi and you’ll get a delicious free breakfast. There’s also a games room and a lounge area, and you’ll have a personal locker in your dorm.
2. Super stylish living
One of our top rated on HostelBookers the Hotel Am Nockherberg sure is some stylish accommodation in Munich. Located on the right bank of the river Isar it’s in a central location but in a green area too. It’s just ten minutes away from the city centre by underground, and the station is a two-minute walk away. You’ll get a huge breakfast buffet every morning, a mini bar in your room and a private bathroom.
3. Mobile hostel
One of the cheapest accommodations we have left for Oktoberfest is at the Hangover Hospital. It’s a nomadic hostel that sets up wherever the party is, and in October it’s in Munich. The mobile hostel is set up less than 15 minutes away from all the action and can host up to 500 guests. You’ll sleep in a safe and secure 12-bed dorm and there’s a 24-hour reception desk, a 24-hour entertainment area, free Wi-Fi and brand new bathroom facilities on each floor.
4. Back to nature beds
What about camping? At Munich All Inclusive Camping you’ll get a tent, mat, sleeping bag, hot breakfast, delicious BBQ dinner and a free private bus daily to the centre. You can even pay €5 and get unlimited beer and sangria at the campsite – possible bargain of the century? There’s friendly staff and the party goes on all night.
5. Superstar hotel treatment
The Hotel Nymphenburg Munich is a 3-star hotel just 3 stops away from Oktoberfest. A ‘plentiful’ breakfast is included and you’ll get free internet access too. All rooms have a private bathroom, desk, telephone and cable TV. There’s even a bar downstairs that stays open until 3am, and a garden patio to enjoy a balmy evening.
