Brisbane, Australia is filled with cheap things to do. There are even places in Brisbane where you could visit without spending a single euro. The fantastic weather, picturesque views, and very friendly people truly makes the city a great place to spend a vacation. Take note of my 10 cheap things to do in Brisbane and you’ll have an even more brilliantly budget-friendly time.
1. City Botanic Gardens
The City Botanic Gardens is a great place for you to visit if you’re on a budget in Brisbane. It’s located within the Brisbane River Adjacent and is completely free to visit. Big bands have also been know to play here totally free of charge.
2. Southbank Park
The Southbank is probably one of the most popular affordable places to visit in Brisbane. The Southbank Park is surrounded by beautiful views and is completely free to visit. You can swim and picnic with your friends and family and enjoy the ferris wheel too, although there is a fee for this.
3. Roma Street Parklands
The Roma Street Parklands is located in Brisbane Queenlands and is also free to visit. You and your family can enjoy a picnic without paying anything at this place and the views are simply stunning. This place is open everyday for anyone to enjoy and is completely surrounded by beautiful flowers and trees.
4. West End Sushi
West End Sushi is a buffet restaurant where you can eat as much as you like for €15. There are 10 different types of spicy foods and 25 different types of sushi as well. Go for lunch and it’s only €12. Open Mondays to Thursdays, and Friday to Saturday, although it will be €17.
5. Climb Mt Coot-tha
Climbing the Mt Coot-tha is completely free – you only have to pay for your food on the way up. The view is simply breathtaking, so make sure that you bring your camera. Once you get to the top you can indulge in the restaurant offerings.
6. Wynnum Wading Pool
The Wynnum Wading Pool is an old public pool that anyone can visit.It’s perfect for children as there are fun slides and many affordable things they can do here.
7. Streets Beach
The Streets Beach is among many beaches in Brisbane and is free for anyone to visit. You can surf, snorkel, and wake board at this beach, for only a minimal amount. There are a bunch of affordable food surrounding the beach, so if you get hungry after, you won’t need to spend too much.
8. Kangaroo Point
Kangaroo Point is a completely free day out. The view here is gorgeous and there are many affordable restaurants too.
9. Queensland Music Festival
The Queensland Music Festival holds a series of events every year, and the ticket prices to watch those events never cost that expensive.
10. North Stradbroke Island
The North Stradbroke Island isn’t free to visit, as you will need to take a ferry to get there. However, the hotel accommodations and food at this island are so affordable that you can even bring your family.
